RMA was then canceledĬons: Had to install USB3 Boost and AI Suite. Apparently, you need UASP installed for this cable to work with certain ASUS mobos when the USB 3.0 is on an ASmedia controller. After this I noticed that the download section for my Asus motherboard under utilities contained a file called USB3_Boost after downloading and installing the update (it is part of AI Suite the cable worked fine with the drive. Updated the USB 3.0 Firmware, still did not work. Tried it in different USB 3.0 ports did not work. When i first connected the drive using this cable (the drive worked fine without the extension) Windows 8 would pick up the drive but not be able to access it causing the system to hang. All my USB 3.0 ports are controlled by the Asmedia ASM104x controller. When i first get the cable, I hooked it up to a external Seagate 2.5 inch hdd. Pros: As stated in the title I had to ask for an RMA, but then realized I did not need it.
